The PPORA Level 2 Conditions Race for Grass Roots Riders at Edgcote on Sunday 13th April has attracted 14 entries. Five hold entries elsewhere on the card and this race could present a more winnable opportunity. They are: James Luck’s Penshurst second Aikenbreakinheart, Kelly Morgan’s Guilsborough winner Dusart, professional trainer David Dennis’ Innisfree Lad – being used as a schoolmaster for his daughter Tilly and who ran well when fourth at Maisemore Park last time – Luca Morgan’s On Springs, who made an impressive pointing debut when winning at Kingston Blount at the weekend, and Francesca Poste’s Russian Diamond, who ran well at Badbury Rings, then less so at Siddington. Three of the entries, Coeur Serein (owned, trained and ridden by Louis Hadfield at Tranwell), Lousie Dace’s Premier De Troice (James Earnshaw at Parham) and Jo Priest’s Striking Out (Emma Williams at Howick) having given first wins to their riders this season while owner-trainer-rider Abby Henry’s victory on For Rita at Ston Easton was her second. Fixture Secretary Sarah Case laughed when asked about the chances of her husband Ben’s Wisecracker, ridden by her son George. “He’s going to run but probably isn’t a threat!”
