Would you like to get involved with the Point-to-Point Owners & Riders Association, with a seat on the National Committee and the chance to help shape the future of point-to-pointing? We're currently looking for a new Area Representative for participants in Devon & Cornwall?

Details of the role are below. If you are interested, please apply by emailing pporacommittee@gmail.com with your personal details and brief information on your experience of point-to-pointing, focusing on the Devon & Cornwall Area where relevant.
The PPORA is a members organisation with the primary purpose of representing the views and interests of its members to the Point-to-Point Authority through the seat it holds on the PPA Board.
There is a committee of Area, Rider and other Representatives who bring together this information from across the country, collate it and relay it to the PPA Board on a regular basis to ensure informed decision making.
The PPORA is not responsible for the running of the sport, but does play a key role in its direction. We also work with the PPA and the PPSA in supporting and promoting the sport, helping recruit new owners, jockeys, keepers and horses. The PPORA is financially independent and funded largely by membership income, with a small amount of commercial sponsorship. It is run by volunteers and supported by part-time paid administration.
The role requires Area Representatives:
To have a visible presence at a significant number of point-to-points in their area.
To be approachable for participants and racegoers to air their views, and discuss issues that they would like to be raised at PPORA Committee meetings and taken to the PPA Board.
To ask questions of your point-to-point community, as we need our members opinions.
To provide photographic and/or video content from your area for the PPORA social media and website.
To provide information about participants in your area, e.g. officials, owners, trainers and jockeys.
To give your time to support initiatives promoting point-to-pointing, both nationally and in your area.
To attend the majority of PPORA Committee meetings, which are usually held at Stratford Racecourse and/or via Zoom, and to be prepared to contribute with information, issues and feedback from your area.
To join the PPORA WhatsApp group and provide feedback via this channel and/or via email.
To ensure that you disseminate the information discussed at PPORA Committee meetings and via the WhatsApp channel to participants in your area.
