Introducing JockeyCam

Updated: May 9

A New Perspective on Point to Point Racing

We're thrilled to announce the exciting debut of JockeyCam in point to point races, a new initiative supported by the PPORA and organised by the Point to Point Authority that aims to boost exposure and promote the sport to a wider audience. On the 20th April at Chaddesley Corbett, JockeyCam helmet cameras were utilised for the first time in point to point races.

In a move towards innovation and enhancing the spectator experience, at least one JockeyCam was worn in every race throughout the day. This technology provided on-course viewers with a unique and thrilling perspective when Huw Edwards' win aboard Call Me Clever was showen on the big screen after the race.

“JockeyCam has been utilised for many years now under rules around the world and it's great to be bringing it to the grassroots area of the sport too. Creating content that both engages spectators with a fresh and unfamiliar perspective, as well as generating opportunities for jockeys, trainers, fixtures and race sponsors to have extra digital content to promote themselves.” Stephanie Jones - JockeyCam Operator.

We are incredibly grateful to the following jockeys, who wore the camera; Zac Baker, Vicky Solitt, Gina Ellis, Henry Cow, James King, Huw Edwards, Immy Robinson and Milo Herbert.
