The PPORA is delighted to announce the eight fixtures who have received funds of £1,000 each from the small grant system created to support specific meetings who would benefit from additional funding.
The eight grants have been awarded to the following fixtures who applied during the summer, after careful consideration by the PPORA Committee, and having also been reviewed and verified by the Point-to-Point Authority and the Point-to-Point Secretaries’ Association.
Meeting | Course | Area | Date |
Cornwall Hunt Club | Wadebridge | Devon & Cornwall | Sun 7 Dec |
Dunston Harriers | Ampton | East Anglia | Sat 10 Jan |
South Wold | Revesby Park | Midlands | Sat 17 Jan |
Royal Artillery | Larkhill | Wessex | Sun 18 Jan |
Curre & Llangibby | Howick | Wales | Sat 14 Mar |
Morpeth | Tranwell | Northern | Sat 28 Mar |
Silverton | Dunsmore | Devon & Cornwall | Sun 12 Apr |
Welsh International | Ffynnon Druidion | Wales | Fri 22 May |
The Morpeth at Tranwell (pictured above, c. Grace Beresford) has already announced its intention to invest their grant in providing food and drink to all owners with runners on the day in a new marquee. Fixture Secretary Emily Cookson told the PPORA:
“Owners are the heart and soul of point-to-pointing. Without their passion, dedication and love for the sport, there would be no horses, no trainers, no jockeys – and no magic on race day. They keep the heartbeat of our countryside sport alive.”

We look forward to seeing how each fixture invests their grant and implements their plans to maintain their meeting and enhance the experience for owners, riders and all participants.
