PPORA Fixture Grants 2026-27

The PPORA are delighted to again open our small grant system for next season, with the objective that the grants awarded will enable point-to-points who require financial support to continue to run their fixtures.

The PPORA Committee is prepared to offer a grant of £1,000 to ten successful applicants for the 2025-26 point-to-point season.

Point-to-point secretaries are welcome to apply for a grant if they believe they meet one or more of the criteria below, and are prepared to meet all the mandatory requirements, by completing the application form in full and emailing it to pporacommittee@gmail.com

Any fixture which received a grant in 2025-26 or any previous season is welcome to apply again, as long as they meet the criteria and fulfil the mandatory requirements.

Criteria for a 2026-27 PPORA Fixture Grant of £1,000:

  • The point-to-point will struggle financially to host a fixture in 2026-27.

  • The fixture was unable to go ahead in 2025-26, causing a financial impact.

  • The fixture went ahead in 2025-2026, but was unable to generate significant revenue.

Mandatory Requirements for a 2026-27 PPORA Fixture Grant of £1,000:

  • The fixture will host at least one PPORA race in the 2026-27 season.

  • (If applying for a repeat grant). The fixture hosted at least one PPORA race in the 2025-26 season.

  • The fixture will provide owners with a minimum of six passes for their entries in the PPORA race(s).

  • The point-to-point will invest the grant money in a measurable way to sustain or grow an existing fixture.

The Process;

  1. Point-to-point secretaries make applications by 1st September 2026.

  2. PPORA Committee review the applications in consultation with the PPA and the PPSA.

  3. Successful fixtures will be notified by 30th September and the grants awarded before the start of the 2026-27 season.

The PPORA grants do not need to be invested in prize money. Instead, we recommend that the financial support is invested in the fixture in a measurable way and, ideally, one that benefits PPORA members.

For Example;

  • Investing in owners facilities to improve the raceday experience for PPORA members.

  • Covering the costs of essential operation staff and/or facilities (e.g. owners marquees) that allow the fixture to go ahead and host PPORA races.

  • Improvements to the course layout and to fences, including new birch and repairs.

  • Covering the increasing cost of expenses for doctors, paramedics and vets, enabling the fixture to go ahead.

  • Social media and other local marketing to increase footfall to the event and generate additional revenue through the gate.

  • Increasing prize money for owners who are PPORA members.
