Who We Are And What We Do
The PPORA is a members’ organisation committed to strengthening, supporting and promoting Grassroots Point to Pointing and its community of owners, riders, and supporters (including volunteers and enthusiasts)
We are a 25% Stakeholder in the Point to Point Authority holding a seat on the board. However we are financially independent, and fund our organisation and wide range of contests and awards from our membership income and our commercial sponsorship arrangements. Our organisation structure is primarily volunteer based, and we are supported by part-time paid administration.
We are committed to our role as the Voice of Grassroots Point to Pointing and encourage all members to express their views to their representatives (you can find their contact details here ) and at our annual AGM which includes a Members’ Forum with an opportunity for members to raise issues with key decision makers and influencers from the organisations and committees involved in the management of our sport.
Who We Are And What We Do was introduced by Chairman Robert Killen at our AGM on 09/06/2017. Proposed for adoption by Percy Tory and seconded by Michael Bannister, both former chairmen of our organisation, it was unanimously endorsed by members present.
Designed to explain our vision and our aims, this document also defines our structure and a number of core processes relating to your involvement as members.
