With the season gaining pace we’ve updated the National Young Horse Awards Table and added the Area Young Horse Awards Tables to the site (click on the links to view the tables)

Leading the Point To Point Racing Company PPORA National Young Horse Award contest is Monsieur Gibraltar, trained in Wessex by Rose Loxton for Mr J Crane, Mr I Fogg and Mr P Nicholls.  This 7 year old French bred by Spirit One who came into the season with notable credentials – four wins ( 2 in Points and 2 in Hunter Chases) from last term –  has since added  a Men’s Open and a Ladies’ Open at Larkhill, along with a further runner up spot at the same course.

His total of 26 points is just 2 more than his closest pursuer The Two Amigos. Bred by Robert Waley Cohen, and formerly trained by David Pipe , this 6 year old by Midnight legend appears to have relished ground conditions at Wadebridge this season where he has made it 3 from 3 in a Restricted, Confined and Intermediate for his trainer Nicola Martin and the Bradley Partnership.

There’s a long way to go and plenty to play for at both Area and National level – we’ll keep you updated via this website as the season unfolds
