This season we have our best ever collection of contests and awards for Novice Riders looking to make their mark between the flags – click the links to go to the pages that tell you more

Harley Racing PPORA National Novice Riders’ Championship – open to all – points can be scored on all Novice Riders’ Races up to and including Sunday 19th May – but there’s bonus points for PPORA members taking part in PPORA Novice Riders Races.  There’s £700 of kit vouchers to be shared amongst the top 3 point scorers

Howden Insurance PPORA Wilkinson Sword open to all male riders who’ve not ridden a winner (including under Rules and Arab Racing) before the start of the current seasons.  This season’s winner will be offered RSS sponsorship from Howden for the 2019 -2020 Point to Point season

Howden Insurance PPORA Princess Royal Trophy –  open to all female riders who’ve not ridden a winner (including under Rules and Arab Racing) before the start of the current seasons.  This season’s winner will be offered RSS sponsorship from Howden for the 2019 -2020 Point to Point season

PPORA Novice Riders’ Championship –  new for 2018 – 2019 and exclusive  to PPORA members points will be earned in all PPORA Races up to Sunday 19th May – and there will be DOUBLE points in ALL races at the College Valley & North Northumberland, Lamerton, and Golden Valley Point to Points (the meetings being supported by the PPORA this season). The PPORA Novice Riders’ Final at Edgcote will be the ultimate decider – the first 4 past the post will score TREBLE points – and it will be the highest overall point scorer from amongst these four riders who wins the award.  The prize for the winner of this award is the money can’t buy experience of a 1-2-1 masterclass with AP McCoy – surely the “must win”  prize of the Season!

Treehouse PPORA Pony Racing Graduate Award –  thanks to some fantastic sponsors there will be £1000 of kit for the winner of this award – it’s open to all ex-Pony Racers who’ve had their first rides in Point to Points since November 2016 – it’s not just about winners so click the link to find out more – and to see what’s in the prize package!

PPORA Novice Riders’ Final there’s a £1000 in prize money up for grabs – and more besides – plus it will be the decider for the PPORA Novice Riders’ Championship – someone who competes in this race is guaranteed to win that award.  We’ve simplified the rider qualification for the race – and any horse owned by a PPORA member is eligible to ride in the race. It will be the one that all Novice Riders want to win!
