Another busy weekend of PPORA Races – including the first of 3 meetings supported by the PPORA – the CVNNH!
We’ve three races this weekend – and once again all are well supported with 16 entered at the College Valley & North Northumberland, 26 at the Holderness and 26 at the Flint & Denbigh. Throughout the season so far we’ve been especially encouraged by the number of family owned and ridden horses entered in these races, and this continues again this week (44%/42& and 31% respectively) it’s great to see and over past weeks 35 owners of family ridden horses have added their names as point scorers one PPORA’s Road To Stratford Leading Owner (Family Ridden) Award father The Dick Woodhouse Trophy sponsored by the MFHA – it’s great to see this refocussed award reinvigorated so successfully!
The CVNNH is the first of 3 meetings “supported by the PPORA this year”. There double points for the PPORA Members’ Awards on offer to PPORA members in ALL races on the day – a benefit that’s not been missed by Newmarket based Sarah and Luke Humphrey, and Somerset based Johnny Farrelly and Luca Morgan, who are all competitive in these awards and hold entries at this meeting.
Team Chatterton – owner Mike Chatterton, rider George Chatterton and trainer Chris Bealby – head the PPORA Leading Owner, PPORA Leading Owner (Family Ridden), PPORA Champion Novice Rider, and PPORA Leading Keeper tables – and also have entries here so it looks set to be a thrilling day.
As well as bonus points there will be PPORA #roadtostratford gilets for winning owners, and our new #roadtostratford hoodies for winning riders in every race.
We’ll be there too and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone – please come up and say hello – you’ll spot us in the paddock before the PPORA Race – John Leadbetter many of you will already know and you’ll spot Tessa in a pale green bobble hat.
