2019 – 2020 Young Horse Awards
A prestigious showcase for the wealth of young equine talent that consistently emerges from British Point to Pointing. The PPORA Young Horse Awards and are a points based national championship for 4, 5 6 and 7 year old horses competing in British Point to Points.
There are 5 Regional Winners and the highest overall point scorer from amongst these is named National Champion Young Horse
The 5 Regional Winners for 2018 – 2019 are:
Midlands (Midlands, South Midlands and West Midlands Areas)
Winner: Cheltenam de Vaige, owned by Matt & Sally Randall, trained by Sally Randell
North (Northern, Yorkshire and North Western Areas)
Winner: Sheperds Cave, owned by Jackie Teal and Frances Attmore, trained by Jack Teal
South & East (Sandhurst, South East and East Anglia Areas)
Winner: Streets Of London, owned and trained by Tim Underwood
Wales & Borders (West Wales, South Wales, Monmouthshire and Welsh Border Areas)
Winner: Highway Jewel, owned by Darryl Phillips, Adrian Simpson and John Griffiths, trained by David Gibbs
West (Devon & Cornwall and Wessex Areas)
Winner: The Last But One, owned and trained by Tom Malone

This awards always highlight horses “for the note book”, and over the coming season we’ll bring you news of the 2018 – 2019 winners, as well as regular updates on the 2019 – 2020 points scorers.

This is a contest that regularly produces “horses for the notebook” and we’re eagerly looking forward to watching the 2019 – 2020 season’s leading contenders emerge – and of course following the fortunes of last season’s winners
Eligibility & Scoring 2019 -2020 PPORA Young Horse Awards
All 4, 5,6 and & year old horses will be automatically included in this contest. Horses are allocated to regions based on the hunt nominated on their Hunter Certificate.
Points can be won in all grades of race up to and including <2020 dates tbc>:
Open Races All Other Point to Point Races
1st – 10 points 1st – 8 points
2nd – 6 points 2nd – 4 points
3rd – 3 points 3rd – 2 points
In the event of a tie, at either Area or National level, the winner is determined by the number of overall wins, and where this still results in a tie the number of wins in Open Races will be the deciding factor
