EXETER RACECOURSE CONTINUES ITS SUPPORT OF THE INTERMEDIATE SERIES

EXETER Racecourse has continued it’s commitment to point-to-point racing in the Devon and Cornwall Area during the 2009-2010 by sponsoring ten intermediate races which will culminate in the championship final at the course on Tuesday, May 4. £5,000 will be added to the Exeter Racecourse Intermediate Hunters’ Steeple Chase, run over three miles.

Each meeting will receive £320, a memento to the winning owner; a bottle of wine to the winning jockey and two tickets to come racing at Exeter for the winning groom.

Gordon Chambers, secretary of the Devon and Cornwall Point to Point Association, said: “We very much appreciate Exeter Racecourse’s sponsorship and it helps maintain the strong link between National Hunt racing and point-to-points.”

Exeter’s managing director Steven Clarke added: “We are pleased to continue our sponsorship. Last year’s final on our Ladies’ Night was a great success and if it’s as good this season we will be delighted.”

The series starts at the South Devon Hunts Club meeting at Ideford Arch on December 28 and ends with the Eggesford Foxhounds at Upcott Cross on Saturday, April 11.
