Awards Update 19th May 2011

NATIONAL YOUNG HORSE AWARD

Both Start Royal and Findlay’s Find still have a chance of winning this; both have entries at Cothelstone on Wednesday and over the weekend.

AREA YOUNG HORSE AWARD

There are nine areas for which there is a definite winner:

Devon & Cornwall – Special Account
East Anglia – Ide No Idea
Midlands – Galway Jack
Northern – Badger Foot
Sandhurst – Dusshera
South East - Vote For Doodle (presumably the award still goes to Mrs Phelan even though she doesn’t own the horse any more?)
South Midlands – Start Royal (still in with a chance in the National)
South Wales – Findlays Find (still in with a chance in the National)
West Wales – Saint Peray

Of the others:

North Western – If Enter Paradise finishes in the first three in the Mixed Open at the Flint & Denbigh on Sunday he will win; otherwise Current Exchange wins.

Welsh Border – Interpleader will win unless Miss Tilly Oscar wins the PPORA Club race at Bangor on Sunday; if this happens then it will be a tie.

Wessex – Dualla Lord is leading but is not entered this week; any one of Cappoquin, Merry Terry, Johnny’s Way or Different Trades could still win.

West Midlands – Mr Melodious wins unless Ned The Post wins the Mens Open at Bratton Down on Sunday. He will tie the score if finishing second but will lose out on countback. Horsham Lad is tied with Mr Melodious on points but has won fewer races and is not entered this week.

Yorkshire – Both Chip N Pin and On Holiday can still catch Impact Zone, depending on results this week – all have entries. Triggers Sun is not entered and is therefore out of the running.

HARLEY RACING

Harry Derham has won this unless Philip Prince can win three races before the 22nd. Unlikely unless he is in possession of an extremely fast helicopter!!
